Aronia

Fruit

Aronia is a type of chokeberry that is native to the eastern parts of North America. The fruit of the Aronia plant is a deep purple color, and has a unique sour flavor profile. Due to this characteristic, the berry is not frequently eaten on its own; rather, the processed fruit is used as an additional ingredient in a large assortment of recipes.
