Encore Fruit Marketing is growing, and we’re looking for a Technical Ingredient Specialist to join our team.
We work with food and beverage manufacturers to source processed fruit and vegetable ingredients from around the world. Our role often goes beyond simply supplying a product. Customers come to us with questions involving specifications, applications, availability, pricing, crop conditions, and supply-chain challenges. We help them work through those questions and connect them with the right processing partner.
We’re looking for someone with technical food industry experience who is interested in applying that knowledge in a customer-facing role. A background in food science, product development, R&D, food processing, manufacturing, applications, quality assurance, or ingredient procurement could all translate well to this position.
Previous sales experience is not required.
This is not a traditional sales role centered on cold calls and quotas. It is a consultative position built around understanding what customers need, solving problems, and developing strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
What the Role Looks Like
The Technical Ingredient Specialist will work with food and beverage manufacturers to help source juices, purees, concentrates, IQF products, and other processed fruit and vegetable ingredients.
The position will involve:
- Working with customers’ R&D, purchasing, operations, quality, and procurement teams
- Coordinating samples, technical documentation, and product development support
- Developing relationships with fruit and vegetable processors around the world
- Evaluating new suppliers and processing capabilities
- Staying informed about crops, markets, and global supply conditions
- Visiting customers and suppliers and attending industry events
- Serving as a technical resource for customers, suppliers, and the Encore team
One week may involve helping a beverage manufacturer source a juice concentrate. The next could mean assisting a baby food company with a fruit puree or identifying an alternative supplier during a crop shortage. The work changes constantly, and there is always something new to learn or a new problem to solve.

The salary range for this position is $65,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience. Relocation assistance or a cost-of-living adjustment may also be available for candidates relocating to Southern California.
